Easy Holiday Content Ideas

the spark show Nov 21, 2019

Welcome to The Spark Show! In this episode, we’ll be covering:

- My top tips on creating holiday content

- How to get brands to work with you during the holidays

- How to amplify the reach of your holiday content

Who’s already creating holiday content? Thanksgiving is coming up in a week and Christmas is just five weeks away.

My first tip is to plan and shoot ahead of time. A lot of companies start creating their holiday content in September. That’s when the press and media start sourcing for their holiday articles and stories.

The second tip is to repurpose content. I’ve used photos from previous years and so when you’re planning shoots, know that you can repurpose your content and use them over and over again.

My third tip is to go to places that have holiday themed decorations and lights like malls, buildings with a Christmas tree, museums and plays so you don’t have to create a whole holiday set.

How to get brands to work with you during the holidays

One way to work with brands is to plan on doing a gift guide. Gift guides are a great way to showcase brands and pitch to them to partner with you. Most brands are happy to provide product for you and if you want to do a giveaway.

A lot of big brands that I’ve worked with was through a gift guide and you can do gift guides for all upcoming locations: Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, birthdays, etc.

Another idea is a 12 days of Christmas giveaway where you do a giveaway every day for 12 days. Some people start this on December 1st and some do it leading up to Christmas. It’s similar to the gift guide angle where you would reach out to brands and let them know what you’re doing and ask them to participate. You can ask them to share it on their channels too so you can reach more people.

How to amplify the reach of your holiday content

You can partner with brands on the gift guide or 12 days of Christmas giveaway and ask them to promote in to their email list and their social channels.

You can also collab with other influencers and all of you can cross-promote it on their channels. You can also do a collab shoot and have group photos tagging everyone in the content. Another partnership is with a non-profit organization or a charity.
